I've spent four days trying to get something out of this chip but it's like 🤐
its capabilities are amazing but it just does not want to get configured and talk

yep... 4 gigasamples per second with "6.5 digit" resolution... it took 33 minutes to capture 1.2 μs worth of waveform
(timebase not calibrated yet)
it's this circuit: www.radiolocman.com/shem/schemat...
but much faster! delay is adjustable between 0 and 1 μs and the output pulse is 10 ns (available in both polarities)
a 12-bit DAC controls the delay, so the delay should be adjustable in steps of 250 ps
populated board, the device under test will be connected "through-hole" to the machined pin headers so it's up in the air to prevent leakage currents hopefully
note - the schematic says LMC6062, but the part populated is LMC662
I hope this schematic makes it a little more clear
yeah, the SOT-32 package is a dual diode (BAV199)
the idea for having such large pads is so I can solder individual machine-pin headers to them to keep any components up in the air away from the board and other sources of leakage current
it's an LMC662 breakout board, I plan to play with transimpedance amplifiers a little
fresh set of PCBs from @aisler.net
more to come
getting somewhere
this is the biggest IKEA Trotten, 160 cm long and 80 cm deep (which seems like a good number for most TE)
now that's more like it
yeah not very impressive, but I think I know why - the OPA145 I'm using as a pre-front-end to the LM311 has a very low bandwidth (5.5 MHz) compared to a straight fast comparator like the LT1016 (10 GHz)
not in the USA, but I love you back! (international student somewhere else)
things are being measured again after months of "hobbyist's block"
populated this TPS7A39 board yesterday (±5 V output)
@aisler.net do you have a tutorial for castellated PCB edges? not just pads, but around the entire board edge
@aisler.net bump!
obligatory NNNI26 mention! 😘
100%
yep... I always think of technology as benefiting the very, very few people who are smart enough to use them properly, and leaving everyone else in darkness... I consider myself to be a survivor of the internet, but every day my anxiety just increases because of the constant exposure to.. everything
or revolve around them, for that matter... sheesh, to be someone who is not American sucks right now
eh, they said "American" twice, so the rest of the world are just...
yes please, more anti-AI content ✊

oh my god, why is this stuff not dead yet? stop talking about "holistic AI education" and burn this down already
I nerdsniped @dmytroengineering.com into helping me out with something and here are the results (a friend in need is a friend indeed!)
github.com/diminDDL/pic...
well, well, well... everyone is fawning over this "marvellous" "new technology" and calling everyone else a Luddite for not laying down flat and accepting it... how soon are they going to start manipulating the training data into manipulating everyone?
adapters!!! thanks @aisler.net!
(NNNI26 for €10 off, works multiple times!)
I like this
might be! my father used to keep his phone (and other devices) plugged in all the time till the battery died (keeping lithium-ion batteries permanently charged damages them); I really don't think about plugging it in till it reaches maybe 5% (though I charge overnight regardless of battery state)
