Calling all stem cell researchers!
We are seeking a research scientist to join our group and develop technology culturing pluripotent stem cells using tissue mimetic substrates. This is a 2 year funded opportunity. Details and instructions on how to apply: apply.interfolio.com/169153

Amanda Ya and Chenhui Deng discover that (1) human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) tolerate being aneuploid but (2) in mosaic populations, aneuploid hPSCs are less fit relative to diploid cells and are eliminated by cell competition to maintain their genome integrity.

It's official! Congratulations to Dr. Amanda Ya on passing her thesis defense! So proud of all your hard work and accomplishments.
Please join for Amanda Ya's upcoming thesis seminar. Looking forward to a fantastic talk on cell competition between diploid and aneuploid stem cells!
Thanks to Minji Jo and Ryota Uehara for organizing a fantastic session on the causes and consequences of ploidy alterations at MBSJ this year! It was great to hear about all the exciting research going on.
Thank you to Minji Jo and all the group members of Toru Hirota's lab at the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research. It was an amazing day of meeting new colleagues, sharing research, and making new connections! Next up MBSJ 2024!
