Sun Ra "Cosmos" on this record he plays an instrument called a Rocksichord... this is a 2000 era repress side 2 with Moonship Journey, Journey Among the Stars, and Jazz from Unknown Planet is sublime. #vinylsky #vinylcommunity #jazz #nowplaying

I think this is the second press of the Negative Approach 7" #vinyl record I bought as a teenage punk. The Touch and Go label was super influential. #musicsky #vinylcommunity #punk "Lead Song" is the definition of melodic, hardcore, "Pressure" predates powerviolence.

Bad use of the word instict, using it removes agency and suggests a natural, genetic basis for behaviors that are not.

The infamous first press of the Faith/Void split from 1983 on the Dischord label. My Faith poster is totally different from pics of inserts online, I wonder if they sent a few of these posters out, and then changed it? @henryrollins21361.bsky.social #vinylcommunity #punk #vinyl #vinylsky

God forbid I sully the memory of Angie Dickinson but the 80s was weird in that we had no access to older cult films unless a local indy theater was showing, and so Point Blank probably got popularized after VHS did. The Rock hit with all the energy of 70's supergroup

Yeah but there was a cool movie starring badass Clint Eastwood so reopening it might generate clickable content for gen X and boomers who saw that thing on HBO a million times in the 80s which it reminds them of as a better time because they were young and Uncle Ronnie was in charge and...

The Tar Babies "No Contest" on the great SST label, an early american hardcore band by the time of this 1988 release sonically expanded to more of a punk-funk sound. Propelled by drummer Dan Bitney of Tortise, guitarist Bucky Pope had a singular style. #vinylcommunity #punk #nowspinning #vinylsky

Bought at used record store recently the sleeve was crinkled, but vinyl pristine. Psychedelic with lots of cruchy riffs, very Hawkwind inspired if not actually lysergic. A+

This Portaits of Past selt titled record was rumored to exist in the 90s, by 2005 I scored a 3rd Gen CD. A #hardcore #punk holy grail on #vinyl impossible to find until reissued in 2025. #nowspinning PoP recorded in 1995, absolutely ahead of its time, for fans of stuff like Deafhaven. #musicsky
