Doomblade

Got this in a Fanatical bundle (man, they have taken SO much of my money. It must have looked cool in the trailer/screenshots on the page because I remember next to nothing at all about it now, I just remember it looking fluid. But either way I think I will at least try it out one day.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

I may beat this on Xbox if the boycott ends, since I was several hours in, but got it on Steam for the handheld/cross save potential. Loved what I played but started to see just how challenging it can get when I got distracted by something else. I WILL come back to it!

Vertigo 2

I want to finish the first game first (I’m 10 min in lol) but Jarek the Gaming Dragon on YT LOVES this game, and really the whole series. Next to HL Alyx, this the VR game I have the most expectations for, I just gotta make room, charge the damn controllers, and give it a shot finally.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Would not have picked this up if not for Humble Choice, but tbh, I got a great feeling about this one. Been curious to try one of those 2D-3D RPGs and this one has a black woman on the cover too. Hoping this one has a world, story, and characters that really pull me in, I want this one to stick.

Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip

I think it was a Nocaps video that introduced me to this one. Very charming presentation and a simple, yet fascinating premise. Picked it up in a Fanatical bundle, will definitely make time to at least try it one day.

I Am Your Beast

Played the opening 30 minutes on Game Pass, got it on Steam through that Digiphile bundle a few weeks ago. It’s fun, but looks to be just long enough that I can’t just beat it in one sitting, despite it giving me that vibe for some reason. I’m sure the weekend I dedicate to it will be a fun one.

Still Wakes the Deep

Was lightly into his until I heard that it just turns fully into a horror game in the back half, along with all that implies. But we gave it some GOTY award at @vgutv.bsky.social the year it came out, so I got it in a Fanatical bundle and hope to see what’s so good about it.

Marvel Snap

I played maybe 15 minutes on my phone but never really got into it, only really tried it because everyone seemed to be obsessed with it at the time. Picked it up on Steam because it seemed like such a phone specific game, was curious to see how they adapted it for PC. Doubt I ever will.

Dungeons of Hinterberg

LOVED what I played on Game Pass when it dropped. Fun dungeons that felt like babies first Darksiders (respectfully) & the story is structured like Persona. Idk why I left it, maybe I got distracted, maybe the Persona comparison got me nervous it’d be a time sink, but I WILL get back to this.

Seafrog

Been on my wishlist for ages but only picked it up a few weeks ago. Super cute artstyle and fun. 2D, Tony Hawkish looking gameplay. It was cheap and I saw it got a pretty big 2.0 patch right before I snagged it. We’ll see when I get around to it, but I do very much so want to.

There's no other AAA developer that still makes single player shooters that aren't Far Cry. All of these games are so great, and if you wanna understand the hype for the new one that's about to be revealed, play these games. I love them so much.

The Case of the Golden Idol

This is one of the 12 for 12 Challenge games I intend to beat this year. This is the only game I (foolishly) picked up for that challenge, specifically picked it up to get out of my comfort zone. Might need to stream this one, I think chat will encourage me through it.

Silent Hill f

Picked this up on sale a few weeks ago. Was indifferent about this until I heard how steeped in a uniquely femme perspective it is in reviews. I don’t feel like many AAA games care to tell stories like that, so I wanna try it, even if I’ve never played a SH game and am unsure if I’ll find it “fun”.

A really cute an novel concept that I doubt I actually would have picked up if not for Humble Choice. Now will I play it? Well, I do want to see just how much milage they get out of this joke, but don’t have confidence it’ll be funny up to the end. Guess I’ll see for myself someday!

V Rising

I really vibe with the vampiric mechanics in this one, makes top down action like this feel unique. I am not a fan of the base building mechanics, I really don’t love how many cool looking games ultimately end up being Minecraft again. Might still try it tho.

Distance

I’m sure I got this in a Fanatical bundle, seems obscure enough where I doubt I sought it out. But it looks like it could be a fun, atmospheric driving game. I doubt it’s Burnout or anything but might be worth trying for the vibes at least.

The lack of variety in general is what I understand as being the main problem with the list, should at least have some modern 2d games if not anything pre ps1. But on the Red Dead 2 note, I can't help but disagree, especially if you've talking about that epilogue section with a different character.
