A roundtable on my book is now out in @intnatsecjournal.bsky.social
Grateful for the thoughtful and generous engagements. A great interdisciplinary exchange on law, intelligence, and security, permitted by @kcsi.uk's Polly Corrigan Book Prize.

😂
Surely they backed up their criticism with evidence?
I think most brands specify 'orange' or 'lime' marmalade somewhere on the label.
Great article here about the Irish Military Intelligence Service.

A long read but a really interesting look at the murkier end of corporate intelligence amongst the oligarchs and super-rich, where the line between intelligence and covert action becomes blurred.

I went to a counterinsurgency conference at a former convent in Portugal a few years ago, where we discovered the concept of 'breakfast wine'. That was quite lively by the end of each day!
That'll be a nice present! Well done to your Dad!
Just proves the old adage that the worst thing you can hear an NCO say is, Hey, sir, watch this!".
Does the intelligence community warn of imminent threats? After speaking with my students, I’ve decided to offer clarification of the threat warming process.
That's essentially what I said in a webinar on Monday with Erik Dahl talking about warning intelligence, based on our book. Warning is a core task of intelligence, but it is for the policymakers to decide if/how to respond or even decide other things (real or imagined) are greater threats.
Certainly the level of devastation in my bedroom and the fact I woke up fully dressed at a weird angle on top of my bedcovers could only be explained by the vortex created by the simultaneous opening of a space and time wormhole.
That exact same thing has happened to me a few times. I think Big Alcohol is in cahoots with time travel and teleportation scientists to carry out illegal experiments.
I hope that works out for you.
Really sorry to hear that. It’s a crappy way to treat anyone.
At least humans can be held accountable. And it’s a false dichotomy to split university education from professional practice.
True.
Fancy book learning is all, like, woke and shit. We just do gym stuff now and let AI do the nerd stuff.
Inside the Department of War are two wolves:
"We've shut down the Colleges of War because book learnings are woke, gay, and irrelevant to war fighting."
"How come no one told us the Strait is important, there are different kinds of Kurds, Iran is big, and air power historically doesn't win wars?"
I look forward to learning what flora and fauna are considered 'woke' by right wing culture warriors.
As was often said during the Iraq War, '"Yee-ha!" is not a plan'.
Knowing intelligence analysts as I do, such a person will almost certainly exist.
When I was 10 years old I went to sea with my Dad for nearly a year.
Presumably a different nuclear programme than the one that was obliterated last summer.
