The Blazers are going to the playoffs. I have no idea how they won that game but they did.

Looks like they’re having some issues getting it going. I noticed yesterday morning and sent them a message. Unfortunately I’m getting the same error this morning.

The last few weeks I've blocked a lot of social media on my phone, and I have tried to make the "internet" a place you go to. Social media is only available on the home PC.

Legislatures want us to hand over our ID to use social media.

California even wants OS to be locked behind ID.

Yeah, I’m really interested in this too. It’s wild he was out the entire season for an alleged at-home injury.

I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.

I haven’t liked extraction shooters, but @marathonthegame.bungie.net has captured my fascination. Bungie nails it with the gunplay and lore. It’s really fun when running with a cohesive group.

‘No one deserves this’: Beaverton father dies after deportation to Mexico A Beaverton family is grieving after the father, who was detained and deported by ICE, has now died.

This 53 year old man who lived in my neighborhood w/no criminal record & who had been in the US for 30 years, was detained and thrown into a cold cell for days, caught pneumonia and COVID there and deported.

He finally died.

I am so angry.

It is also very important as adults in a child's life to be consistent. Make sure if you have a kid that is asking questions about their safety that the adults are consistent. Do not make promises, but everyone should promise to try their best to keep them and the people they love safe.

One thing that commonly happens is that a child will ask me if we will win or get the result they want.

I have learned that the best answer is not to promise them an outcome, but promise them that I will try my best. That's really all I am in control of.

This is a great article that looks at the impact of the ongoing raid of fear on children in immigrant families and the children around them, and how we can react to these kids as adults in their lives.

My own work sometimes requires me to call children to testify at trials...

Each trauma a child experiences has a cumulative effect and can have long-term effects on their health. It can lead to substance abuse, mental health disorders, and even heart disease. It is well studied.

Just brazenly looting the government while Congress sits with their thumbs up their asses.

The horrors are becoming too much.

My job as a lawyer is to read about and become very familiar with trauma occurring to families. Then I come home, and there are more things to read about trauma occurring to families.

Keep fighting the good fight, but please take time for your head.

Voter ID is bullshit.

ICE is detaining people with Real IDs by saying they’re fake.

They’re just going to move the goalposts again to try to invalidate votes.

If any of the music streaming services had a switch I could flip to swap the explicit with the clean version, I would be so happy.

Oregon tried giving homeless youth $1,000 a month with no strings attached. Here’s what happened The program helped 94% of participants secure housing while building financial literacy skills that could break the cycle of homelessness.

This is awesome. In 3 counties, Oregon gave unhoused 18-24 year olds $1k per month for 2 years plus one $3k bonus, and 94% of participants were housed at the end.

DHS doesn’t even bother trying to lie well. The man whose skull was shattered told the hospital he’d been struck by ICE officers, an ICE officer told hospital staff the guy “got his sh*t rocked,” then when it became clear how badly he was injured, they claimed he deliberately ran into a wall.

Official concedes 8-year-old who died in U.S. custody could have been saved as devastated family recalls final days The parents of 8-year-old Anadith Danay Reyes Alvarez told CBS News that their daughter died in Border Patrol custody because of negligence and discrimination.

In 2023, CBP killed a young Black girl that they imprisoned by incarcerating her and failing to provide the needed medical care for her sickle cell anemia

You cannot reform this apparatus which kills people no matter which party is in charge

AG Rayfield challenges militarized and illegal deployments in Minnesota

“What we’re seeing in Minnesota is not law enforcement — it’s hundreds of heavily armed, masked federal agents whose actions have escalated fear and made communities less safe.
No one is above the law. Americans deserve transparency and accountability now.”

Oregon and a coalition of 20 states are officially supporting Minnesota’s lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s extraordinary campaign of lawlessness during its deployment of federal agents to Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The federal government’s lawless actions are causing unacceptable harm to Minnesota, its cities, and its people, and showing unprecedented disregard for foundational constitutional principles.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.
