There are quite a few along the seashore where we regularly walk. They are surprisingly large, especially when they fly close overhead! And yes, hearing the communication amongst the smaller birds is a dimension of the natural world that I am happy to be aware of!

DDT did a job on these birds. Much worse than it did on the Ramones. Heartening to see their populations growing.
