I quit my corporate job two years ago to make games, and I’ve just released my first game! It's a Windows 95 themed automation game where you make PowerPoint factories.

Check out Factory 95 on Steam. #gamedev #indiegame

Yes! Talk about all the books but if anyone tries to leave with one you tackle them and wrestle it back.

I kinda want to get a whole box of those little packets that say “silica - do not eat” and put them in a little bowl on the table. It just seems like a thing to do.

I think it would be fun to have a table at a craft fair, just without selling anything. Let people look at stuff I've made, talk about it like a craft fair, but fuck you it's mine. Make your own. Isn't it nice though? I mean, that's 99% the experience of having a craft fair table anyway.

Well that‘s the bleakest thing I’ve read all day, and in 2026 that says a lot.

They’ll probably come back the minute we have a Dem president who does something a random Texas judge doesn’t like.

Panthalassa | Go where the energy is We're harnessing renewable energy in the open ocean and delivering it around the world. Engineered in Portland, Oregon.

I’ve been reading up on Panthalassa’s work, and divided between being deeply impressed by some honestly stunning thinking and engineering, and also snickering that the world’s AI will be powered by a massive eternal jerk-off motion. panthalassa.com

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

The Past Recaptured: Dumas Takes on Pushkin’s Genealogy In this article, I investigate how Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870) engages with Aleksandr Pushkin’s (1799–1837) family history in his travelogue Voyage en Russie (1858–1861). It has sometimes been argu...

was wondering just now whether Dumas had ever written about Pushkin (the other famous European writer with African ancestry of his day) and the answer is yes.

one thing I keep explaining to people is you do not even understand what extreme losers these guys are- when you call them "dangerous" it makes them feel cool, because their entire lives and formative years the only adjectives they ever heard about themselves were "loser" and "joke"
