The book is an invitation to draw on the actual usage of the term "democracy" to learn more about the opportunities to grow, strengthen and protect democratic practices. I'm proud to have been part of this initiative along with many thinkers whose work I have long admired.

The sciences of the democracies - UCL Discovery UCL Discovery is UCL's open access repository, showcasing and providing access to UCL research outputs from all UCL disciplines.

A few years ago, Jean-Paul Gagnon started a series on @ecprtheloop.bsky.social about the importance of studying conceptions of democracy across time and place.
