PD is weird and so disconnected from STL. I *would* pay to read things like restaurant reviews + tornado recovery news, but mostly it's like an old friend that calls you up for coffee just to hit you up for a loan.

Going through the first round of morning emails in my inbox has been especially triggering this week, but "The Cusp of Summer Shawna" sounds like the name of a Ren Faire booth selling cider goblets. I like it! 😀

I had a similar experience. It took a couple of gentle and self-effacing attempts for some elders to accept help.

Intrigued, but would not heed anything from just LinkedIn as a call from the universe.

Could you pay your bills if you stopped working? If everybody in your household stopped bringing in a paycheck, would you still have a place to live, groceries, healthcare, transportation, etc?

If the answer is "No," you're working class. Working class means you have to work to get by.

Free idea: PD makes a subscription just for local tornado coverage and gives the $$$ to folks trying to help + I take them up on it and quit putting up salty posts about their firewalls.
