Craftsmanship isn't dying; it's leveling up. 🛠️✨
#BuildInPublic #AI #DevLife #OpenSource
Sure, "prompt-only" devs will ship buggy, insecure, and unmaintainable code. AI isn't magic; it doesn't replace 20 years of craft.
But for a dev who knows their way around? It’s a massive force multiplier. It opens doors we didn't even dare to look at.
In just a few months, I’ve shipped 2 Open Source projects (#AyAIs, #Zolt), a SaaS in beta (#Viktor), and a 4th project (stay tuned 🤫) is already on its way. I even started a game.
Without AI, some of this would’ve taken years (or would’ve never happened at all)
I've started developing a remote AI project manager for Gemini CLI.
Unless you know of an app that already does this?
📦 Get it on GitHub: https://github.com/marmotz/AyAIs
🐧 Also available on AUR for Arch users: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ayais-bin
Stop tab-switching. 🛠️

AyAIs 0.4 is out! 🚀
This release is all about flexibility:
• Reorder providers with drag & drop
• Add/remove providers as you need
• 13 providers available (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek, Gemini, Grok, HuggingChat, Kimi, Mistral, NotebookLM, OpenRouter, Perplexity, Z.ai)
Sometimes I think this invisible rigor is what makes a project great and stable as it grows.
Other times, I feel like I should just settle for 'good enough' to ship faster. 🛠️
What’s your take? Polish to perfection or ship and iterate? 👇
Sometimes I spend 3 hours on a tiny detail, an optimization, or a test that users will probably never see.
Is it wasted time? I’m not sure.
Back to AyAIs! 🤖
For the next release, I’m implementing dynamic provider management: you'll be able to add and reorder them via drag & drop.
I’m also planning to add new AI providers.
Any specific ones you’d like to see? Let me know! 👇

Right now, my community might be small, but I keep pushing.
Who knows? In a few months or years, Viktor, Zolt, or AyAIs might take off just as unpredictably.
Persistence is key. 🚀🎶

A track I released back in March 2023 just blew up: 20k streams this week, 33k this month 🤯
It took 3 years to finally take off
Why am I sharing this?
Because of the parallel with my dev projects

But there’s a silver lining: it’s the perfect time to refine your vision without the outside noise.
Building solid foundations in peace, hoping the echo will come later. 🧱✨

Launching a project without a massive community often feels like shouting into the void.
No feedback, good or bad.
Are we on the right track or totally lost?
No clue. 🤷♂️
Today, I had to update 150+ files to roll out a feature.
For this kind of boring-as-fuck, tedious work, AI is a godsend.
It actually makes the grind bearable. 🤖☕
Take care of yourselves and your mental health.
It’s your most important tool. 🧠☕️

Back after a few days off.
I didn’t code, didn’t overthink.
And it felt great.
Everything isn’t 'fixed' yet, but it was necessary.
Our job is purely intellectual—if the brain is fried, the code will be too.
I’m not disappearing, but I’ll be much less active here and in my IDE.
"Building in Public" also means being honest about when the engine is overheating.
See you soon with a fresh perspective. Take care of yourselves too! 🙏

We talk a lot about launch hype, but rarely about the crash that follows. 📉
After the intense push for Zolt and the Viktor beta, my batteries are running low. To avoid hitting a real wall, I’m stepping back for a few days to recharge. 🛑☕
Zolt has just passed the milestone of 1000 unit tests 🎉
Halfway through the first day and spots are filling up! ⏳
If you missed the announcement this morning, the Viktor Beta is officially open. 🚀

Bonus: Make Code Reviews fun again! 🎭
Customize Viktor’s personality to fit your team's vibe:
🤝 Bromance: Your supportive best buddy.
🔥 Roast: Brutal honesty (at your own risk!).
⚖️ Neutral: Straight to the point.
Join the first 50 testers: https://viktor.tools
How it works:
1️⃣ Complete your ticket in your issue tracker.
2️⃣ Submit your PR.
3️⃣ Viktor’s AI analyzes the code vs the requirements.
4️⃣ Get instant feedback before the human review.
Faster PRs, 100% requirement coverage. ⚡🧠
Stop merging incomplete features. 🛑
We’ve all seen it: a PR looks perfect, gets "LGTM" and is merged... only to realize later a core requirement was missed.
Viktor reveals these gaps instantly. If it’s in the ticket but not in the code, you’ll know. 🎯
It’s time. Viktor is stepping out of the shadows! 🚀
After weeks, I’m finally opening the Viktor Beta.
⚠️ Only 50 spots available for this first wave. First come, first served.
