Yup. Because we have far more content given to us from celebrities on social media than we can consume, we see them all the time in media, so it’s less compelling to go to see a movie simply from interest in the star.
Just go to IG. Watch a story. Done. We’re staying home.
FWIW, I think we on the left have to go into the right wing spaces. Their podcasts. Their networks. We’ve gotta go in there and challenge their ideas inside that echo chamber. Because their ideas are bad, lol.

The broad plays of generic big budget films just don’t grab audiences like before. They can play a game to get big glossy pictures. Wait for streaming.
Gotta give them an experiential reason to buy a ticket.
The “Star” of your film is the experience of your film. LONGLEGS was marketed on the experience. Audiences responded to the specific experience of terror.
Specific experience marketed to audiences that want it. Smaller budgets. Targeted storytelling.
