Friends and comrades made a crowdfunding page for my family.
Itβs really hard to post this. I know that there are a lot of other important issues asking for money but things have gotten to the point where we need to open ourselves up to your support.
Thank you for your consideration.

Anarchist organizing actually has a history in Maine. The successful 1904 anarchist IWW strike at Marston's Mills in Skowhegan was national news and a model for later IWW textile strikes in MA. The 1912 rallying cry in Lawrence, "Bread & Roses", still seems like a good goal in life to me.
We're at Maine's first radical book fair and I've had to step out to just cry a little. It's so nice to be here with the folks doing the work and making art and being in community and we've made so many glorious connections. It's so invigorating.
All of us book fair organizers are a very happy tired from the fair this weekend.
Thank you to everyone who made the space, volunteers, vendors, speakers, attendees, chefs! The enthusiasm and goodwill was absolutely palpable and we were blown away by the response. β€οΈβπ₯
Until next year! πββ¬

Masks required indoors. π·

The increased risk has persuaded us to increase our response. We understand that to require masks may seem controversial, but if participation in our space under these conditions will prove an obstacle, we ask you not to attend.
Some free masks will be available but bring your own if possible. π·πββ¬
IMPORTANT UPDATE: New data this week shows a spike in COVID infections. To keep ourselves and the wider community safe, MASKS WILL NOW BE REQUIRED AT THE BOOK FAIR. For ages 7+, indoors in all book fair event spaces, except for kids in the children's area, where childcare volunteers will be masked. We will have some free masks available. Please bring your own if possible. Please do not attend if you are unwilling to respect these agreements.
UPDATE: MASKS WILL NOW BE REQUIRED AT THE BOOK FAIR. πββ¬π·
New data shows a COVID spike. Because we're striving to make this event as accessible as possible as well as safer for ourselves & the wider community, we've changed our mask policy from masks strongly recommended to masks required.
We'll also have Samara Cole Doyon reading in our Children's Space her book NEXT LEVEL: A HYMN IN GRATITUDE FOR NEURODIVERSITY. Bring your little ones by this Saturday, Aug 23 at 11:15. π«
We are going to inherit the earth; there is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie might blast and ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world here in our hearts. That world is growing in this minute."
Buenaventura Durruti
"It is we who built these palaces and cities, here in Spain and America and everywhere. We, the workers. We can build others to take their place. And better ones. We are not in the least afraid of ruins.
We are SUPER GOSH DARN LUCKY (and pinching ourselves!) that these two fierce writers and inspiring movement thinkers, @margaret.bsky.social and Madeline ffitch, will be joining us THIS SATURDAY Aug 23, 4:30-6:00pm, to talk about the anarchist potential of fiction. β¨π£π²
"We handful of organizers include writers, poets, farmers, booksellers, two kinds of mill workers (woolen and saw), artists, arborists, editors, boatbuilders, activists, musicians and one arts administrator β all avid readers β living in Waldo County."
