Its official Bedfordshire has been voted as the worst county in England. Cornwall (who many Cornish don’t accept is a county in England) was voted the best county.
Its just a bit of fun but Bedfordshire does have a quality all of its own (some might say no quality 🤣)

Ooh looks great.
Me standing in front of a very large bronze statue of a seated Buddha there are many people behind me having their photographs taken. I am wearing a denim skirt and flowery shirt and I have blonde shoulder length hair. There are very green trees all around in the background.
Shelves outside a pub with fake or replica food and beer placed on them including a spaghetti dish ice-cream a pizza, meat and potatoes.
A different bar window with a shelf of many different replicas of beer and lager.
This week's episode of weird in the wade is a kind of love letter to pubs especially haunted pubs from Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, North America and Japan. I've been lucky enough to visit Japan several times and plan to explore some more Japanese ghost stories in the future! Link to episode below
Oh wow that’s scary!
Send Lisa your Dublin haunted pub stories!

Me holding a glass of beer I’ve got long brown hair and I’m smiling.
An old photo of me enjoying a pint in an izakaya (pub) in Tokyo. In Monday’s episode of Weird in the Wade I explore local haunted pubs as well as ones as far afield as Canada and Japan.
I visited the archives today for some research for an episode due out in May.

Monday’s episode of Weird in the Wade is all about haunted pubs. From the Whistle and Flute in Biggleswade to North American and Japanese inns.
Pictures the pool table room at the Whistle where strange bangs are heard and a shadow figure seen.

Timber framed 16th century buildings with crooked windows and a yard of loose gravel.
Ampthill clock tower. Its fave is octagonal and glows eerily green in the night. The tower is white and on top of a red brick building.
Last night I joined Bryan (from the Coopers Hill episode) on his fantastic Haunted and Horrific ghost tour of Ampthill. It was a brilliant evening. Bryan’s walks get booked up 6 months in advance. Follow him on Facebook (Ampthill Ghost Walks) to find out more.
A delicate cluster of cowslips with their pale green stems and delicate yellow flowers against a backdrop of dark green.
If you enjoyed the photos I shared earlier of the cowslips then you might be interested in this blog post about them. They have some fabulous magical and folklore associations.

We're having some lovely weather at the moment in Biggleswade and the spring flowers and blossom have been so early this year. I went for a walk to the Jubilee Orchard yesterday to take photos of the cowslips but the apple blossom is almost out too.
