The contents of the submenus still exist even when they're collapsed - the pointer-events property was set to 'none' so that nothing happens when you click on them, but a rule to enable pointer events in opened menus appears to be absent!

Well done, Shaman, you completely put my dinner on pause as I got distracted by working out a fix for this.

And that fix ended up being pretty simple they should really get someone on it!
