We launched three #cyberpunk #indiegames (Null State, Another Round, and One Last Job) on Steam earlier this week; we used #SteamStats to capture some cool info!
Example: in AR it's good to match card suits to the area, & we found 3x more flushes made than any other combo! Neat!

One Last Job's job interface has been updated after #demo players in #SteamNextFest pointed out it was hard to know how each crew member would contribute on a job. We've got a bigger spread of info now, so you can better predict how your crew will do!

Several Another Round #demo players in #SteamNextFest noted they had no reason to make bigger cards. So now, cards below a certain threshold each week become Jaded (effectively, colorless -- they don't contribute to the vibe anymore!).

On the Outside, people return to phone booths and corner shops with pink neon "OPEN" signs. Inside one of the many corporate protection zones, however, the grand opulence of technology prevails: if you want it, it's yours (so long as you have a valid service contract and plenty of creds).
New guidelines are put in place to prevent another Crash: the verticals build deeper digital moats around their private network fiefdoms, while the general public finds their way back online using older, analog tech. A clear delineation forms between Insiders and Outsiders.
In the immediate aftermath of The Crash, the verticals recover quickly. inDS gets their international Delivery Services (inDS, get it?) running soonest; they offer aid/support to everyone in need. inDS and their subsidiaries (+ employees) become heroes that save countless lives.
During The Crash, talented engineers at FYI Media (the broadcasting / telecom vertically-integrated conglom) and Wizards KBS (the knowledge management / infotech vertical) see every system they're monitoring max out, crash out, and go offline. They watch as the internet dies.
Obsidian Wednesday is January 8th, 2059. In less than 2 minutes, all networked devices are wiped clean: still powered on, but the data and operating systems are left strangely corrupted. Any systems not behind triple-reinforced firewalls and anti-intrusion tech are just gone.
In the Null State #cyberpunk near-future of 2059, a catastrophic systems cascade injures hundreds of millions of people worldwide; the news calls it Obsidian Wednesday.

The video game Another Round has an opening screen to select the character you want to play. Here, you can hover over cards in the character's deck to learn more about what those cards do.
We heard from earlybirds who tested our three #demos (coming to #nextfest this Monday!); with their help, we made some nice adjustments -- for example, you can hover cards in more screens on Another Round to read what those cards do! A simple, easy idea!

Next Fest starts next Monday; it is a multi-day celebration where fans can try out demos, chat with developers, watch live streams, and learn about upcoming games on Steam.

The Null State game interface has a main screen on the left and an alternate display on the right. Underneath the main screen is the console's inventory, where their software is stored. Connecting to networks requires plugging cables into the alt display on the right.
Null State is a love-letter to #cyberpunk RPGs we played the late 80s and early 90s. The interface is diegetic -- every cable, plug, and button feels like you're operating a busted, #retro console. There's even some cute Easter eggs for the hackers!

In Another Round, ever named card represents a unique character with a special ability when played. Jamie has been one of the trickier characters to make in #gamemaker (according to the TEG #gamedev team) because his ability copies other abilities!
