I have turned off
the AI features

you were probably

Someone asked me if I’d take a deal where I got $50k, but my worst enemy got $100k.
I said, “sounds amazing. I’ve always wanted $150k."
What do you get if you cross an angry sheep with a angry cow?
One animal in a baaaaaaaad moooooooood.

Caixin: "570,600 Chinese students went abroad in 2025. The figure represents a decline of nearly 20% from the historical peak of 703,500 in 2019, bringing the scale of outbound students back to around 2016 levels."

What keeps coming up again and again is the risk of AI is really the flattening and erasure of plural forms of knowledge and capability with one way of doing things. To appropriate the Zapatista slogan, we need a world where many worlds not only fit but thrive and flourish

"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."

The men who are attempting to contextualize the horrific actions of Justin Fairfax are sending a clear signal that violence against women can be justified by supposed stress.
There's a lot of talk about leaving Substack & whether it will be the death-knell of your newsletter. I have been on Beehiiv for 7 months now & @tlpavlich.gay helped me run some numbers. So, was leaving Substack worth it? The answer, for me, has been a resounding "yes."
Here are the hard numbers:
Palantir raises more red flags when you learn the CEO, Alex Karp is obsessed with speaking in German and describes himself as a socialist but doesn't believe in any leftist economic policies.
And Karp not only quotes British Fascist Oswald Mosley’s speeches at length from memory, but installed Mosley’s grandson to head Palantir UK.
