We grew up unsupervised and there were lasting effects. I don’t think of it as helicopter parenting. These kids need to be monitored ESPECIALLY now with the advancement in technology. They’re exposed to so much more. It’s scary.

When I was 14 I used to take myself to my orthodontist appointments. One day a man that could have been old enough to be my grandfather asked to take me out on a date and followed me until I got into the office. That was 25 years ago. I promise outside has not gotten safer.
