Meanwhile in North America we stripmine artists’ talents, use them every day to survive the prison that this planet is, and are then outraged when they ask for a living wage and job security

Let’s stop calling them layoffs. They’re wage suppression tactics at best.

It’s so hard even staying motivated to find work as a narrative dev in an industry that seems to actively hate us.

Also there are so many people (rightly) pushing back against unpaid tests but I was recently asked to do an extremely predatory test (~ a month’s work in a week) and when I asked fellow game writers for advice was told that if I don’t do it, someone else will, because that’s just the industry now.

It’s both hilarious and horrifying that we all know EXACTLY which company this is. Have we all gone through their recruitment “process”? Should we form a support group?
