Important to remember that in the US, companies are required by law to maximise profits for shareholders, including using tax loopholes when legal. Its Americas fault, not the tech bros (except the venture capitalist adjacent ones)

Wheey!
If it happened to ME I'd keep walking, but I'm not cute so wouldn't have believed her. If she'd said "you'll do" I might have considered it
Good morning. The 2nd of May will mark the 20th anniversary of the first episode of Down The Line, the single-greatest radio comedy show made within that period. We're revisiting it at the minute if you'd like to join in with listening along.

My new conspiracy is that governments not only ignore fake job listings but actively encourage them so they can point at them and tell people on benefits that they're just lazy and there's loads of jobs
While I was visiting Nathaniel Hawthorne's grave in NE I spotted this other one off on the side that said "I told you you'd be back to see me" and nobody's ever topping that one if they bury ppl there for another 300 years
Poe's Law at full effect here
I do really want to see this. Like, I bet it's awful and will reflect badly on everyone involved... but maybe if they add a laugh track on everything that was meant to be funny it'll still work, somehow
I saw The Day Today when I was 11 and was obsessed with Chris Morris. Years later a pen pal sent me Why Bother? on tape. I still have it. He was an old bloke I think but he was never weird. Listen I didnโt even know what a paedophile was until I saw Brass Eye. Anyway love this series all the best ๐
That's rubbish. I'd assumed the funding would be geared a bit better: a flat amount to cover necessary staff, then extra funding per pupil to cover admin/stationery/food costs and the like.
Maybe I should write to my MP! Though I'd bet NUT have already got a long list of requests like that
Ah. Right, that's a spanner in the works
THAT was my revenge! Tee hee!
later and whispered to him "I've had my revenge" and he was "huh?" and I said "for flicking my bollock. I've gone and had my revenge" and he got worried saying "what did you do? What the heck did you do" and I just smiled enigmatically and sauntered away, leaving him flustered and paranoid
Had a dream I was at an Oscars party at a fancy hotel/club, and was hanging out with Jay Z, who flicked me in the bollock and smugly said "yeah, well what are you going to do about it?" and I was like... yeah, what CAN I do about it? So anyway I left the room for an explore, and came back 30 mins
The forces of good need to offer better material incentives IMO
I'm not suprised but also UGH. WHY DOES EVIL KEEP WINNING
Bus typo: Help us score the gift of life, DONATE BLOOB
BLOOB FOR THE BLOOB GOD!
Mysillycomics person saying "hey elder scrolls 6 how's it going". There are three following panels of the person standing waiting for an answer that does not come
Good news for students and teachers though? Smaller class sizes are usually a benefit
Maybe you need to buy a newer better phone?
Damn you Rogan!
"Huh. I guess those robbers expected me to die easily! Well that's not my way. I don't die very easily at all! Or softly!..."
I think that's always been the case though. Papers can and do just make shit up. But if news agencies weren't allowed to quote people anonymously I think we'd be poorer for it - civil servants would never say anything for fear of being fired
I feel this is Good News, broadly speaking
I'm going to bet these stats also approximately reflect the age range asked. Under 30's, 30-50, 50+
*notes*
That's standard Chatham House rules at some events. Politico's can speak freely, even to journalists, who can quote them but can't attribute them. If they did, they'd never be invited back again
Almost every job I've applied to anywhere has required me to give my religion, but there's usually a "I'd rather not say" option too.
Keir Starmer announced Mandelsons appointment on the 20th December 2024
Olly Robbins took up his job at the foreign office on the 8th January 2025
But Starmer wants us all to believe it was Robbins fault
I'm cautiously optimistic about Polanski, but I fear 'movement capture' when the greens get big enough
