I kinda want to investigate using wildcards, but I'm not sure if I actually like that kind of workflow. I might need to think about it some more though

Recently I've been struggling with weird artifacting, so I've decided to experiment a bit with different checkpoints and styles. I'm still getting used to my new setup, but I do like how images come out so I'll probably stick with it.

I've been messing around with a variety of models and techniques these last couple of weeks. I'm trying to get back into a more regular schedule again, starting with a couple of Endfield posts to my pixiv over the coming days. Here's a sampler #AI #AIArt

Still need to wrap the whole thing in some kind of lightweight webframe and maybe think up some convenient way to launch into a project or create a new one (to which the answer is usually some creative use of fzf)

Benn brooding over how to deal with the awkwardly nested location that workflows are saved under, but I like my machete solution of simply deleting the folder and symlinking the working configs from my start-up script lol

Have been going through a bit of a motivational crisis (i.e. I slacked off), but the good news is that I'm starting to like my overall workflow using nix and Comfy so there is that

Main advantage (to me) would be that models you don't touch get cleaned up automatically, and sharing your config would also automatically resolve any missing models (as long as they're available, at least).

But I'll be worrying about that at a much later point in time LOL

Like, models on CivitAI disappear all the time, either because they get replaced with a new one or because the page gets expunged. Content safety settings may also interfere maybe (idk, but that shit seems cursed).

So it's definitely 100% possible and not that hard conceptually to handle stuff like checkpoints and loras via the nix store and that is a train of thought that I should probably not follow too closely.

This probably has some downsides (API key requirements, reliability, rate limits)

Initially I happened to catch some update that broke the config (I guess?), then it kept recompiling ML essentials on every launch and crashed out on me because my RAM ran out and now it's going CPU only for some cursed reason

I'm like 80% of the way there, I just need ComfyUI to behave for like 5 seconds. It keeps faking me out by working fine, but when I relaunch it because I had to install a node or whatever it does something wacky

Also I gotta check what is up with my substitutes because I've had to build various ML libraries from scratch like 2-3 times now and I don't really enjoy allotting 100% of my RAM to that repeatedly. I'm kinda trying to do stuff *other* than building packages here

Added bonus is gonna be that I am more or less free to actually get started on the "project-based" workflow I'm looking for, i.e. having workflows, outputs (and inputs, I guess) at the same level while sharing models and such globally

Running comfy through Nix is going... okay. Still room for improvement for sure. I think I gotta move the whole shebang to it's own flake and see if properly pinning outputs does the trick

The downside is (especially with upside-down compositions) that it gets the gravity wrong so hair and such starts drooping in the wrong direction. I find that much easier to fix with inpainting than messed up anatomy though

I may just be slow, but turns out rotating landscape/upside down images until the depicted character is upright works surprisingly well to keep Illustrious from messing up the anatomy. Haven't had a duplicate belly button or additional hip joint in a while

I've been experimenting with my workflow and styles a bunch recently. Finally homing in on something that is more in line with what I want.

For the remainder of my gripes I probably have to write some custom nodes and maybe do some nix magic once I'm back to Linux as my daily driver
