It seems to me that more Americans are realizing, like those of us paying attention have known all along, it was never about finding waste and fraud, because there wasn’t much, if any, of that. It has been, of course, about the grift, about corruption, about self-enrichment.
A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members. We should be judged by how we treat those who are easiest to ignore, people who are poor, homeless, incarcerated, ill, and so on. But apparently, that’s not how it’s going to work under the apathetic Trump administration.
