since i'm in maine and inevitably come around a lot of people's takes on the state and platner, one thing i'll say is: the party just has not had the kind of venom against him that they had against... types like mamdani.

To be clear I’m not even saying that the Nazi tattoos are specifically *why* Platner gets kiddie gloves from the establishment and the liberal podcasts, but I’m also not saying that someone would be unreasonable to draw that conclusion based on how it’s all played out in the public sphere.

I genuinely believe we’d be in a much different place today. If every single day of any Trump presidency there has been a new impeachment filed with all Democrats voting for at every opportunity. Even if there had never been a republican defection it would frame things far more accurately.
