Had reason to remember the one libertarian who constantly denounced every other libertarian in the 00s as statists/fascists/communists and then literally moved to Somalia and ran a general store there.

I don't care what your politics are, when it comes to purity that dude's got us all beat.

I simply cannot give any details at all but it’s very funny how the notes on it spend a paragraph trying not to just say “act a little autistic, but not so much that it scares the normies.”

Similarly, the implementation of a state-subsidized waged-worked transport sector to replace semi-proletarian jeepney drivers is a real risk here as a way of permanently undermining Manibela and Piston.

We can't forget, of course, the elevator worker's strike in New York, which was defeated by a regime of permanent scabbing via the automatic elevator.

we see how the isolation and peripheralization of strikes under normalcy inherently has these material and ideological limits, of reaffirming ourselves as specific kinds of workers.

See the way the state can conjure buses to undermine transport strikes is similar to scabbing is easysauce critique. Once we question why transpo strikes can't be indefinite bc of a threat of a shift to a permanent scabbing state-funded public transportation (among other reasons),

Albert Meltzer

No anglophone anarchist, far as I know, wrote more about Zionism & Palestine than the English anarchist Albert Meltzer (of a Jewish family background.) This zine collects his main articles on the subject (& one uncredited article potentially by him.)

It didn't matter. People don't burn building or shoot political figures because of sound charts. Events will occur in spite of your wisdom and you will complain impotently forever

There's nothing shocking about callousness. Mamser, this is a genocide, not a care center. Stop calling this incompetence. Filipinos in our own country should stop expecting competence or blaming incompetence too and wake the fuck up.

excellent and detailed article detailing the flimsy and prejudicial foundations of the case against the Prairieland defendants!

it highlights issues that have been underreported by people covering the case - including juror coercion!!

please read and share.

starting to think na settler colonialism is a double genocide: first obviously of the native, and secondly a cultural genocide of the settler to destroy their relationships to their culture and their homelands in order to assimilate them into whiteness and citizenship.

emma goldman once said "if voting changed anything theyd make it illegal"

she said this at a time when white supremacists had waged a murderous mass terror campaign to make it illegal for black freemen to vote after their enfranchisement had brought radical change to the south

“Negotiations” start on Tuesday and Israel is blowing up entire villages

Do I need to explain that these negotiations are designed to fail?

so much hitler particles and duterte particles on filipino social media. cia this, duterte that—common enough explanations. cia didn't need to do shit tbh. they did, of course, do some things. but largely the work of ideology is greater than any one government, a totalizing logic imposed by normalcy

One of the hardest parts of my job is the tension between protecting people from the violence of cages and evictions on the one hand and the legitimacy I give that system and its built in inequities on the other. I get my work isn't liberatory. It's harm reduction. I can't sue us into liberation.

The Key: No, it's fair. I'm just curious how you're thinking about this in the present tense. What's the through line between what happened then and what's happening now?
Ta-Nehisi Coates: First of all, it's really bad. I emphasize the Israel part because my support for Palestine, my support for Palestinian life, it's not about support for Palestine and Palestinian life per se. Just like-and it took me a while to get to this—my support for Black life and for Black people is not for Black people or Black life per se. I just believe human beings are entitled to certain dignities and certain things in their lives.
It's a pretty baseline thing for me.

You can do both at the same time, there's no contradiction. Even the UN claims to respect group rights (a la UNDRIP) as well as individual rights. If fact, you could argue that individual rights are not complete without group rights, and vice versa, if you wanted to use a "rights" framework.

I want to remind people that USA and Israel have murdered every Iranian negotiator they could find and violated every agreement they had. I don't believe for a minute they plan to accept or even negotiate Iran's 10 plan for any more time than they have to stock up supplies and get ready for more […]

see, we should consistently consider things government doesnt do as intentional rather than incompetent. see it all the time in the big philippines. militarized quarantine? intentional. boltched anticorruption commission? intentional. widespread curfews? soft launch martial law?
