Having to take an assessment on a job I haven’t even gotten an interview for feels particularly galling; especially since the “emotional intelligence” assessment felt like it was giving “neurodivergents need not apply” vibes.

Job posting: We need 10 years of experience in a technology that didn’t exist 10 years ago. Also, this is an entry level position. Also, we’d like to pay 30k under market.

Being ghosted after five interviews, especially for a company that spent the majority of those interviews talking up their company culture, is not only disheartening as a candidate, it’s extraordinarily unprofessional. There are very few downsides to remote work… but being in a TEAMS meeting and having three people sending you urgent messages while you are simultaneously trying to take notes and contribute in a meaningful way is tricky at best.

If I’ve ever been to the Rainforest Cafe before today, I must have blocked it out because this is a sensory nightmare. The only redeeming factor is the kids seem to love it.

My “favorite” part about looking at LinkedIn suggested jobs includes the following:

1. Jobs I’ve already applied for.
2. Jobs I am completely unqualified for.
3. Jobs that require you to be on site or hybrid in other states.

On a side note, I may be feeling a bit frustrated with my job search. 👀
