Because this seems to be coming up more and more I’m thinking about writing up something about it long form that people may be able to share if this issue comes up in their chapters

This is specifically about organizational procedure and structure. We don’t need to be doing the equivalent of having everyone in the county voting for every decision the post office manager makes. There are decisions where input is useful and decisions where it isn’t needed. Lines need to be drawn

The capitalists are perfectly content to wait while we deliberate yourselves into exhaustion. We can’t confuse political goals with organizational method.

Similar to how “socialism is when the government does stuff” democracy isn’t when “everyone votes for everything”. I think Marxists working in DSA do need to remind people not to fall into fetishizing direct democracy and opting for it for every decision and cause organizational paralysis
