I was walking across a parking lot and thought "Man, I feel so drained."
Then I started cackling! I just finished donating platelets. So ... I am drained.

Possibly, one of the highlights of my writing career where I get to write about a much heated and neglected topic and see this work published by a magazine I love and always dreamt of being part of.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts, reader!

Years ago, a writer friend was passing through on tour. I didn't know him that well, but I liked what I knew of him - and when he suggested that I join him (and the other writer touring with them) to hang and sign stock, I said "Sure, let's do it." So the three of us spent a day doing that. (1)

I just saw something about this today. Glad to hear you're enjoying it because I really want to watch it.
I've gotten in the habit of letting my teen choose my next read from my shelves if I'm having trouble picking. Today they selected a YA alternate history zombie romance. I have no idea when/why I bought this but it's better than I thought it would be so far. Here's to reading the books I own.
Oh yeah definitely the one thing sci fi and fantasy has been missing is the male gaze
What a lovely review of The Map of Lost Places! I love that people are still reviewing it and hope even more people discover our creepy little anthology.

I finished this book completely out of spite. It was not good. Need to refresh my brain by reading something absolutely amazing.

I'll probably finish it, but I won't be picking up anything else by this author. And I'm glad I didn't buy this one, a friend gave it to me.
After this I need to read something really well written.
I'm reading a thriller by a big name author - they've published 70+ novels - and all of the characters are just awful. All the men are douches, the women are simpering. I'm halfway thru and I'm not sure I even care who the killer is at this point.
Unmedicated ADHD: my plans for today are none of my business
I borrowed it from the library while telling myself that it was okay to DNF it if it didn't immediately catch my attention. I was riveted. So glad I invested the time. The end did drag on just a bit, in my opinion, but that was the last 2 to 3 hours. Out of 48! Well worth the read.
I didn't manage to read many books this month, but I did finish listening to audiobook of The Count of Monte Cristo - all 48 hours of it! - so I think I did alright.
It is. And I think it's something most people don't want to think about or consider.
It was really good. Very insightful.

I've got a little series percolating in my mind-swamp atm and I won't say too much yet but if you would read a sexy female-led Shakespearian version of The Witcher, do holla at me (and then also at all the smart editors you know)
I've poured a second cup of coffee, queued up The Stand soundtrack, and am ready to tackle my to-do list.
I always have a backup and a backup to the backup. 🦮
Has anyone watched any of the new Kay Scarpetta series? I really enjoy the books so I'm kinda excited to check it out, but I'm also worried they'll ruin it.
I'll probably watch the first episode tonight.
Shout out to @ivygrimes.bsky.social for a truly phenomenal piece of writing with The Cellar Below the Cellar, creating a soft Southern Gothic apocalypse digging its fingers into the raw, rich dirt of life.
