Dr. @abdulelsayed.bsky.social is going to win this Michigan primary for the US Senate and then y'all are going to have to stop saying that progressive anti-genocide candidates can only win in NYC.
Link to his speech at the Michigan Democratic Party Convention in the comments.
INBOX: Amid rising tendons between Trump and Pope Leo, the administration has abruptly canceled an $11 million contract with Catholic Charities to shelter and care for migrant children who enter the U.S. alone, ending a relationship dating back to the first arrivals of Cuban exiles in South Florida.
Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinian schoolchildren on their way to school earlier today in Umm al-Khair, Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
This is some of the most horrifying stuff I’ve read in my life

Isr@hell bombed Leban0n over 100 times in 10 minutes. Lebanon is only 4,000 square miles. It’s smaller than Connecticut. Imaging Connecticut being bombed over 100 times in 10 minutes.
Stop saying this is about Netanyahu. Israel has been bombing Lebanon for decades.
Are folks aware of what Israhell is doing to Lebanon? This is horrifying.
Watching Mamdani do expand universal preschool, shovel snow, fill pot holes, and launch free child care for municipal workers is such a contrast to watching the current administration destroy everything in sight.
I will never understand why folks think Democratic Socialism is a bridge too far.
Proof again that who owns the media matters. The @inquirer.com is one of the few major American papers meeting the moment. They don’t shy away from being honest about what Trump is doing and how unhinged he is. share.inquirer.com/oTwgKn
You have to get to the sixth paragraph of this story before you read the disgracefully-phrased sentence: “Attacking civilian infrastructure risks violating international law”
Me, joking: I can’t believe we chose “destroying the economy” and “losing wars” over “being nice to trans people occasionally”
Conservatives, dead serious: it was a tough choice, but I’m glad we picked “destroying the economy” and “losing wars” over “being nice to trans people occasionally”
Just read that 60 Minutes had evil money laundering fraudster MAGA charlatan Franklin Graham close out their special Easter program.
Just in case it wasn’t clear before, CBS is fully propaganda and state run media, not news. Absolutely vile.
This is anecdotal, but I've talked to quite a few people who left X (and other platforms) for Blue Sky and we are all having the same issue--we can't really find community here. Curating our feeds hasn't gotten us very far. The lack of a robust master algorithm could be the culprit.
In this Lit Hub essay, @anjalienjeti.bsky.social (“Ballot”) reflects on challenges she faced when writing her latest book.

The next thing you know, Trump will push voters to sign their names and provide their social security numbers on their ballots. His end game is likely to eliminate anonimity in voting entirely.

57 of my fellow students were arrested, academically disciplined, and barred from campus 2 weeks before finals.
And then the visas of some of those students were quietly revoked.
And then the DEI office was killed.
And then we watched our mentors’ grants evaporate over “woke”.
I can't read Amy Coney Barrett on this but she just asked the most nonsensical question.
NOW: Live oral arguments in Watson v. Republican National Committee, which will decide whether absentee ballots mailed by Election Day--but arrive after--should be counted. Attacks against absentee ballots, especially in states with this grace period, have ramped up since Trump lost in 2020.
That’s amazing!!! Good luck!
Yes! Thank you. Plus we have ranked choice voting. I’m currently polling in third. LFG! ✊🏼💜
Hey look! You don’t have to vote for Graham Nazi tattoo Platner in the Maine primary!
