during the Bush years, when empathy was at an all time low and I had no hope. Hate was so normalized

What kept me going were the people I met online.

They taught me love, community, and acceptance. They taught me I wasnt alone.

Be there for those in need, okay? Help them thru the dark place.

Keep making art. Keep writing your stories. Even if they must exist in secret for a time, they are important - each of them a little act of rebellion.

Most of all, keep on living. If you can muster no other motivation on some days, then do it out of righteous spite for those who want you gone.

I'm terrified for my rights as woman as well as for my fellow LGBTQIA+ friends... Although keep pushing on never back down! Take up space and let them know we won't take any mistreatment

You are allowed to celebrate good things that are happening today: your birthday, a book coming out, new baby, new puppy, seeing your favorite piece of art in person, etc.
