paikallisista maanäytteistä valmistetut savilietteet ja esineet päästettiin vuoropuheluun virtaavan veden ja luonnonvoimien kanssa. Tuloksena syntyi sarja teoksia, joissa maa, vesi ja ihminen käyvät keskinäistä keskustelua – muuntuen yhdessä osaksi elävää maisemaa ja toisiaan.

2023-2024 työryhmä asui ja kulki Utsjoen maisemissa havainnoiden, dokumentoiden ja keräten materiaaleja, kuten maata ja kiviä. Materiaaleja tutkittiin ja työstettiin keramiikan keinoin.

Maalaboratorio tutkii ihmisen ja maan välistä suhdetta ja yhteyttä elävänä maisemana. Projekti haastaa länsimaisen tavan nähdä maa pelkkänä hyödynnettävänä resurssina ja etsii kokemuksellisia tapoja ymmärtää maata kokonaisvaltaisena, elävänä toimijana.
