I thought Putin continued the Russian genocide in Chechnya? Or are we just forgetting that?

Absolutely shocking statement from Green Leader Zack Polanski.

Putin denies Ukraine’s right to exist, abducts their children, bombs their civilian infrastructure, and kills their citizens.

True but the Perm Sec cadre is small and they have collectively been found wanting (for one reason or another) over the past six years. I used to have a lot of sympathy for them but I now I wonder.

We know why. It comes back to the same point I made earlier. I won’t repeat it, at risk of sounding like a stuck record. 😂

Yet another news story that will shock nobody. The Tories funnelled so much cash to family, friends, and donors while people died due to lack of resources.

Remove the brown skinned people and replace them with members of the 'master race' is US official policy.

It would require a Ministerial Direction for a contract to be awarded against the advice of the Perm Sec or Chief Commercial Officer. I have no idea what happened with this particular contract but I have to say, in light of Robbins’s statements, I have lost confidence in the system.

Two important stats that the media rarely report are:
📈 number of people in work - up by 650,000 since July 2024.
📉 number of people who are “economically inactive” (eg long term sick, carers, stay at home parents) - down by 370, 000 since July 2024.

So more good news on both fronts.

Absolute peanuts to what the US is losing every single day with Donald Trump running it (into the ground).

The Tories oppose all the new laws being introduced by Labour, so to suggest they are same is not borne out by reality. But I do understand it’s the trope that the Greens etc like to pump out to cover up their lack of any workable policies.

It does make you wonder. Or maybe the problem is that we have no say over who owns and controls our media outlets. So irrespective of which colour of government we get, we are fighting against the same machine designed to protect the rich and elite.

2 hours ago 0 0 0 0

Another part of the problem is that these contracts are signed off by civil servants (I assume in this case the Government’s a Chief Commercial Office - or similar). But as we are finding out our trusted civil service has chinks in its armour and likes to cover up its own mistakes.

2 hours ago 4 1 1 0

But it distracts from everything else is the problem. For example, where was the reporting that the UK has moved back to being the 5th largest economy in the world after we were relegated under the Tories?

Good news.

Our Labour government has announced today that 2 bills that will not finish their progress through Parliament before the end of the session will have carry over motions next Monday.

The bills are:

Public Office (Accountability) Bill (Hillsborough Law)

Northern Ireland Troubles Bill

I so want Starmer to “do a Hungary”, close down GB News and get people behind bars for years of corruption. But we seem to be too nice to do that for reasons I will never understand.

Love to know which Tory donor via what oblique investment vehicle, had an interest in this firm.

And who were among the central figures in this contract? Suella Braverman and Robert Jenrick. Both now bleating about tHe cOrrUpT eStAbLiShMeNt from Reform's ranks.

Robbins testified that he never saw the UKSV form, where they had ticked the “RED” in both boxes.👇 It’s clear from the evidence today that the pack which Olly apparently refused to hand over included the form. So he had it all that time and still refused to tell them. Lie of omission.

It also took Cat Little 3 weeks to tell the PM that Mandelson had failed his vetting, once she eventually found out. Of course the story leaked shortly after. Cat said she needed that time to get: “policy and legal advice”. I understand the need to cover one’s back but that is unforgivable.

Is our country ungovernable? Six PMs in 10 years:

David Cameron - resigned 2016
Theresa May - resigned 2019
Boris Johnson - resigned 2022
Liz Truss - resigned 2022
Sunak - sacked by country 2024
Keir Starmer - concerted effort to depose.

We must look like a basket case of a country.

Robbins has repeatedly lied. He is lucky he is not facing charges of misconduct in public office. He also lied to the Cabinet Secretary during his review of Mandelson’s DV clearance, after he was sacked last year, where he failed fo disclose that Robbins had failed vetting. bsky.app/profile/theg...

This is quite damning evidence. Robbins should be recalled by the Committee. He seems to have a habit of either lying directly or through glaring omissions.

Olly Robbins refused to give Mandelson vetting summary to Cabinet Office, says Cat Little In evidence to MPs, Cabinet Office top civil servant disputes that her department suggested vetting might not be needed * UK politics live – latest updates Olly Robbins refused to hand Peter Mandelson’s vetting summary to the Cabinet Office, the civil servant who leads the department has said. The summary – which would have revealed that Robbins, the now-sacked Foreign Office head, had granted Mandelson clearance against the advice of security officials – was instead provided to Cat Little by UK Security Vetting (UKSV), she told MPs. I have now watched the evidence given by Cat Little. It is striking that Robbins even refused to provide her with the document relating to Mandelson's vetting. He seems a very arrogant man, but it absolutely confirms that Starmer was deliberately kept in the dark by Robbins.

Starmer has not lost the voters.

And that’s all that matters.

Annual UK borrowing falls by £20bn but Iran war clouds outlook The improvement in government finances is unlikely to last, analysts say, with the impact of the Iran way yet to hit.

Borrowing, the difference between spending and income from taxes, fell £19.8bn to £132bn in the year to March, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

A lot of positive Economic news announced this month. Conveniently buried in the Westminster drama being played out in the media.

Well done that girl from Accounts. 👏👏👏

Outside looking in, it’s easy to see what needs to be done. But the most painful decision would be the best. Get rid of the internal division.

You can’t have authenticity with the public if you can’t demonstrate it in the Party.

We all want unity. Get rid of your traitors.

That gives up some headroom to absorb the Iran war shock.
