I also really loved the Olympics but have come to hate the IOC and…well…things like the American reaction to the hockey win on Xitter. Almost makes me wish the whole thing didn’t happen.

I watch way too much baseball and some football. I can’t watch hockey since my Canucks got screwed out of the Cup, but I do like Olympic hockey (esp sans russians). I find soccer slightly less boring to watch than curling, but not by much. Except the 🇨🇦 men’s league final which was HUGELY

Yes, I put it in the same category as things like basketball where it’s fun to play, boring to watch (I’ve never tried curling through). There’s curling clubs all over, and knowing some ppl who are into it, such flexibility is absolutely not required.

Just the exact right pitch to dig under my skin and elicit a response even from across the house.

It’s brutal. I can’t even pretend to enjoy it. The yelling affects me at a visceral level, especially some of the women’s teams (I’d hate to admit). There’s one team on the Canadian circuit where my wife has to mute it even if I’m not in the room.

And the app is worse for your absence! Unfortunately, there’s still too much going on over there. Even being suppressed into the ground, I get more engagement there than here.

Last night, we had zero snow. This is what woke up to this morning!

On top of all the terrible things happening in the world, my wife has put on curling. 😵

My impression from watching some of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest presented by Planet Fitness”: everyone looks *miserable*.

Anyone out there have any idea why my Nest thermostat has decided to refuse to show the weather on Farsight? I’ve done everything I could think of (and is on the Nest/Google support page).

Haha well I assume there’s still some negative feelings here too, but Shitter is bleak at the moment.

Anyone read “The Wheel of Time” series? I’ve been trying to read the first book, but it keeps triggering my narcolepsy. Does it pick up at any point? So far the experience has just been a torrent of place & character names.
