I can't decide if the Claude for Legal webinar today made me deeply miss law twitter or glad I am no longer there because I definitely would have said some things publicly that I should not say publicly (and I say a lot of shit publicly).

AI Hallucination Cases Database – Damien Charlotin Database tracking legal cases where generative AI produced hallucinated citations submitted in court filings.

I was just looking at the AI Hallucination Database. Easily 90% of reported are for case law hallucinations/errors. That's used more in filings, so sort of makes sense but do we think it also could be that the statutory/regulatory errors aren't being caught? www.damiencharlotin.com/hallucinatio...

A proud Minnesotan through and through.

10 years after his passing, I’m joining folks around the world in honoring Prince by listening to Purple Rain today.

the fun thing* is that every law school faculty has cranks and crazies (e.g. the one at my former school that had a collection of guns in the ceiling of his office), it's just that the media gives extra weight to the ones at T-14s.

*it's not fun

I feel like the basic trajectory of US foreign policy/military is "what if we took every bad decision from the past and tried to do them all at once?" It's the "We're built different" Doctrine.

at least we don't have to worry about them trying to invade Russia in winter. that's the one guarantee.

As @kathryn1.bsky.social flagged earlier today…the Volokh Conspiracy army are preparing to grasp at every imaginable straw to make this about “the leak” instead of “Republican justices made up fake law because they were worried about their personal stock portfolios”

I just saw a thing that said “do you think trump loves McDonalds because it has “Donald” in its name?” and…now I do.

Doing a little research and I came across a bunch of articles discussing submitting appellate briefs on CD-ROM. That became ancient history fast.

"What so you think Ted Bundy shouldn't have been executed?"
No, I don't. The State derives its sovereignty from the People, and so when the State kills a person retributively they are committing murder in my name, and I am not obliged to accept that as tolerable in modern society.

Thinking about starting a (personal) project and step one in my plan is "Invent new branch of physics so that I can manipulate time and actually have enough hours in the day to actually attempt this" and...I dunoo...I think it's just crazy enough to work!
