The formula is usually Master (the owner of the Midnight Diner) has people come in and discuss their problems, usually through just existing in the Diner they begin to work through it. He will make whatever they ask to eat within reason and it usually ties into some sentimental value. Very cozy.

A show from conservative 2009 Japan features openly queer characters, sex-workers, and more with an amazing degree of kindness and empathy. The stories are often bittersweet but more leaning towards sweet. And are usually about very real problems. And to top it all off every episode is about food.

If anyone needs a break from the bullshit going on in the world watch Midnight Diner. It is a beautiful bittersweet TV series and one of my favorites. Both the original 3 seasons and its Netflix continuation (same cast and continuity) is so cozy and very empathetic about the human experience.

Some of the videos I felt the worst about were the ones that did the best and resonated with people. I think as long as you put effort into it, it is worth putting out there. Perfectionism is appealing but ultimately a crutch.
