It's horrifying to realise that Trump enjoys people being hurt, arrested, and put in prison on his command. I think that for him, it's a demonstration of power, and it's also a statement:
"I'm the winner, and I am superior to you. And you are the losers."

Listening and watching the manner in which he speaks on the subject is sadistic. He tries to come across in a way that he believes is socially the normal way but the opposite is the result.
