Watching @jeffgeerling.com sharing his experiences with single board computing clusters with our students as part of the #SBCC this year. Excited to see how my students do. Go GigaDawgs! #HPC

The second network was because they found out that PXE boot doesn’t work over USB NICs, and it’s kinda needed to do Warewulf booting.
The Gigadawgs are gearing up for the Single Board Cluster Competition. 20 #raspberrypi compute nodes, some also acting as storage nodes, connected with both a 1Gbit and 2.5Gbit network, and a mess of cables. Best of luck, y’all! #hpc #sbcc #picluster #rpi

Been a while since I’ve been here. Time to review applications!
a tiny brown & tan chihuahua in a pink sweater is sitting, looking up at the camera. two white strands of hair stick out the top of her head. they’re curled into a perfect heart.
This is Lexa. She really hopes you’ll be her valentine. Wouldn’t want to waste this look on just anybody. 14/10 (IG: bambiandlexa)
Why am I not surprised.
What a day to wake up to.
This is seriously disheartening. I know a few people from NCAR, and it was one of the places I’d wanted to take my career post-Mississippi. I’m wondering who will absorb the supercomputing resources and if the US will ever come back from this stupidity of climate denial.
So looking to alternative BlueSky clients to avoid having to come from “elsewhere” to use it, the one a lot of people recommend, @graysky.app, seems to have been abandoned for months now. Bonus: it’s broken on iOS.
Guess I’ll keep coming from outside of the state. Mildly disappointed.
For now, I’m going to keep using a VPN and showing up from *somewhere else*.
Doesn’t diminish the fact that all the other social media sites are hiding behind money and lawyers to ignore it.
Still don’t like how it’s implemented. Either the law needs to change or Apple needs to implement an anonymous verification system. Assuming what they did for their implementation of a federal ID, it wouldn’t be too hard to do an age-only verification request to that.
Almost fell to the same date this morning. But I’m also a little more clumsy when it comes to uneven pavement.

Ayyy! Appreciate the shoutout. We absolutely love showing this thing off. When not at a conference, it has a proud home near the front of our data center. A perfect comparison of how far we’ve come when compared to the compute it shares the room with.
Anyone else learn some things on this? 😉 #SC25
Reminder! This is happening soon tonight in room 162-163. #SC25
Kraft Mac and Cheese delivery truck parked next to curb in downtown St. Louis.
Wait, is that why this delivery truck was parked nearby!?
Could not agree more. It’s where we start our students on their journey.

Found something last night at the @epcc.bsky.social booth during the #SC25 gala that @jeffgeerling.com might like. Not quite a mini-rack, but there’s blinken lights!

The City Museum is a great location for the Beowulf Bash this year for #SC25. Exhausting, but in a good way.

📣 The #WHPC workshop at #SC25 is under way in room 276. Come by, listen to some good talks, and pick up some swag!
If you were at the SIG-HPC workshop at #SC25 and were wondering about the Proxmox implementation of WW, this is the project one of my students implemented with the help of a colleague.
Looks like folks at #SC25 can get their own fractal. The kiosks seem fussy and one was broken when we showed up, but I got mine!
SC is a highlight of my year. Hope you enjoy it this year!
