Sounds like it should be super straightforward for students. So frustrating they didn’t use them. I would love to get a copy a template. I wonder if making it so they have to submit the pack at the end of the semester for a complete/incomplete grade is the only way to get more of them to use it.

when a number of students missed deadlines and said they didn’t know anything was due, despite dates on instructions, listed on the LMS, announced in class, sent in email reminders, etc.

Do you ever share these course packs? I’m curious what they look like. It sounds like a great idea… if students actually filled them out. BTW I’ve noticed the same issue but haven’t created anything like that. I did have one of my classes fill out a weekly study/assignment calendar last semester…

So if someone opts in, and has taken photos of friends, relatives, kids, even strangers, they’re “giving permission” on behalf of all those people. So lots of people have no say in this.

The whole “opt in” thing was always a charade but it’s approaching terminal nonsense at this point.

for an idea of how big a deal this is, my mom was in great shape when she got diagnosed and she lasted less than sixty days. six years is insane.
