"Jouissance ... captures what the far right offers. An endless, exhilarating game of opposition that saves its players from confronting the emptiness behind the curtain."
Great stuff by @charleskriel.bsky.social.

We are. That’s what Metrotone and Screenburn exist for. Not content. Culture. Stories that deserve to live in someone’s inner life. More on this soon.
The tools have never been more powerful. GenAI, global distribution, accessible production. But almost nobody is using them to tell stories that matter.
Benjamin warned in 1936: industrialised information replaces deep experience with disposable sensation. Byung-Chul Han updates him — the algorithm removes the friction that makes stories transformative.
We build our selves from the stories around us. Ricoeur called it narrative identity. Lacan understood that inherited stories structure our desire before we know we’re desiring. Whoever makes culture makes the raw material of the self.
The creator economy keeps having conversations about tools and reach and engagement. Almost none of them are about storytelling.
Neither are the problem. The problem is a system dependent on, yet built against, the vast majority of the people.
“Stand down and surrender”? Tell me without telling me it’s martial law.
I’m still here. I get more done in the shadows. Thanks for raising awareness of the film.
Thank you for watching

There are a few great ways to use AI for screenplays; this isn’t one. Gemini is being used to provide screenplay coverage. ProdCos will be uploading screenplays en masse, looking for a Gemini pass before they actually read one. Good luck ever getting read again. nofilmschool.com/google-gemin...
This is all one needs to know - the protests are over. Anything that happens from here out will have been instigated from the top.
Ignatius misses the point here. Putin said no to a ceasefire because the moment the “NATO crisis” and “US crisis” ends for Russia, Putin’s head will land at the end of a stick. wapo.st/3ZaCWmG

Absolutely out of nowhere, I have fallen in love with Bolis Pupul’s music and production. Spacious. Knowing. Sardonic, in a good way. It started with this mix from my Deewee bros, Soulwax. It’s the first track. Check it music.apple.com/gb/station/e...

This is real: Amazon (or someone) has censored Robin Hood (2010). They’ve censored out the statement on standing up to tyranny.

You have to understand: race is the foundation of everything this guy does, and not the way you’d hope for a Kennedy, despite his protestations www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Universal childcare, universal healthcare, mandatory maternity leave and high public education standards would make a good start.
This runs contrary to nearly every human principle of the EU. I understand that Europe without Hungary would put a literal hole in the southern heart of the union, but I fail to see how Hungary continues as a member of the EU or NATO under Orban (and Putin). www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...
