Yes, I just spent this afternoon crafting a brand new character, just rewrote 2 chapters and I'm liking it…
So, apparently, according to several readers, I do anxiety producing #horror scenes very well…this is news to me.
I always think “this isn’t scary” or “this probably comes off as silly” Not according to my WIP readers
I am evidently a terrible judge of my own horror #writing
My hubby has learned to embrace being married to a #writer. We’re watching random videos on TV when I suddenly sit up:
Me: “I could make a nebula bird for my #scifi!”
Hubby: “a what?”
Me: “A bird made of dark matter whose wings explode when it flies!”
Hubby:…sounds cool. Do
I just confess…I climb on the bed or couch with my shoes on. Drives my hubby nuts
So, while I love the #HungerGames story, Katniss never really won me over as a narrator, at least book wise. Not sure why. I was always more interested in the other characters.
Especially Haymitch…

I think COVID broke my #writingbrain a little. Used to be I needed my computer to draft, my phone to outline. Now, my best drafting is done on my phone, edits on the computer and outlines on paper.
Or maybe my brain just defragmented when I hit 40…

Each time I get a book edited, I write down the major grammar rules I'm breaking. These are now taped up next to my computer. It's made me more aware of them so I'm catching it more often as I write.

Magic in combat was outlawed centuries ago. There's a lot of reasons why but primarily, emotions run so high in war, it’s impossible to control. It has, quite literally, killed entire armies so almost every single culture abides by “no war magic”
A little less than one year ago (by about 12 days) I made the decision to start exercising more by tackling #TheConqueror #LOTR Challenge.
