It's National Library Week if you want to celebrate by say, buying something off my summer reading wish list. I know, it sounds made up. It isn't, I promise! (Packages already started arriving today. Thank you so much! โค๏ธ)

Yeah, there's not a great answer here. I don't think I *hate* the yellow jerseys in and of themselves, but it's a tough color to work with for sure.
The yellow helmets are making these Penguin jerseys look way worse than they are, I think.
If it's critical to the movie, maybe just put it in the movie, I don't know.
I've generally been a defender of superhero movies, but this is stupid. Write a movie that viewers can walk into a theater and understand. Come on.
I'd really forgotten how terrible/awesome this is.
THAT'S MY FAVORITE SABRE
I got it set up! I was definitely pressing harder than needed even with the set up at first so I could be dipping back into that habit.
It's my fretting arm that hurts. I finally got my strumming pretty decent sounding, no pain.
Hmm. Definitely possible! I was pressing on the strings too hard, but I think I've gotten better about that. But I might be compensating with my thumb. I'll try to pay attention to that. Thank you!
No, it's my left/fretting arm. I bought one on a whim on Marketplace last June, upgraded to a better one in oh, October, I guess. Started taking lessons after that. I'm not great at it, but I'm really enjoying it!
Is guitar elbow a thing? My forearm and elbow hurt when I play. ๐ญ
You guys, my heart is not ready for this. #sabres
I'm going to assume you can buy quality sunglasses for much less money that doesn't even have the Meta AI on it. Seems like the best way to not use Meta AI really.
We're going to noddle some ways to maybe bring in a little more, maybe revamp the book sale somehow. I don't know, something to think about for the future. It's another thing that through absolutely no one's fault, works in the favor of higher-income communities.
I knew we didn't get much in the ways of donations/book sales, but I'd never realized how much some other branches take in. I'm just the city, the difference between our branch and the highest fund city branch was very wide.
I think there's partly a disconnect between what kinds of books get donated and what kinds of books our patrons are interested in buying/reading, partly serving a lower-income community that maybe doesn't have as much disposable income. It's a little bit of a lot of things, I think.
I'm honestly not sure exactly how programming funding is decided between the suburban branches and the city branches. A lot of the city branches compensate with donations and book sales, but we don't get as many donations and book sales just aren't as successful at our branch.
And if you're asking yourself, "I wonder if anyone will be in a dinosaur costume," yes, my branch manager will be in one, probably regretting the day he hired me and all the days since that he's just said yes.
A couple of people have mentioned/asked about the Tea (Rex) Party! Here's a sneak peek at the flyer which I'm gonna admit, absolutely delights me.
Here's a sneak peek of the Tea (Rex) Party flyer, one of my favorite things ever. ๐ Thank you for the gifts! We appreciate you!
Oops, I had them set to followers only. Sorry! Your secret is safe with me!
This is such a great service. โค๏ธ
Oh, this is awesome! We're thinking about cupcakes for our summer kick off so I'll definitely take a look! Thanks for sharing!
Oh, yeah, we were highlighted in Buffalo Spree last month! Here's a glimpse of the cardboard Candy Land @katebits.bsky.social mentioned!
Thanks, Kate! ๐ ๐ญ ๐ฌ
Part of the budgetary difference is that we currently don't have a Friends Group or successful book sales, but both are in the plans to be worked on! I'm already a follower/fan of @prisonculture.bsky.social. :) Thanks for the boost!
Thank you for the kind words and the share, Phil! ๐โค๏ธ
