Seemingly, this was on accident. Scientists aren't perfect beings, they're humans who make mistakes and it's okay to question them if you do your own research to validate your suspicion.

You can. Confounding variables pop up a lot of the time without scientists realizing it.
I used this example in a quote post:
In the recent microplastics study, organs were kept in plastic containers and the scientists measured for a polymer that could give a false positive.

You can use the scientific method and still ignore confounding variables, even without realizing it.
It's not about if scientists conduct the study, it's about which scientists conduct the study.

Example: I believed the microplastics study from last year.
It's fair to disagree with a study when, say, they store organs in plastic containers then use plastic tools to dissect them so they can measure plastic content.
Microplastics may be a problem, but as of now the science is wrong.

pro-science (obviously), but this is not a good take.
You shouldn't agree with everythingmarked as science. Studies can be flawed, statistics can be swayed, etc.
Don't flat out deny studies of course, but please question them. Look at the data. Read the paper. Look who's funding it.
