Finally had a chance to finish The Ravenous Sky last night, & if you haven't read @kurtkirchmeier.bsky.social's Shadow Road duology, you NEED to. I'd call it a "hopeful dystopian" story, & both books are just really, really great young teen reads. Plus, there are dragons (and 2nd book has crows)!

I'm very late to the party, but I was absolutely floored by season one of The Bear.
Yikes. Yeah, that would be a lot. I still haven't read Brave New World, but I think I'll hold off for a bit, lol.
Birds are dinosaurs who shrugged off a couple apocalypses. Some eat bone marrow. Some drink nectar. They outswim fish in the sea. They smile politely at gravity’s demands.

It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.
It's a really bad time for people who are good at extrapolating.
