I miss inexplicably insane computer graphics

Oh no, itโs 1:30am and Iโm feeling productive
Every time Euphoria comes up in conversation I just imagine a South Park-style promo for it:
[Trey Parker lurid narrator voice]: Boy, these kids today sure are fucked up, aren't they? Take a look. Yeah, ngg. Aren't they just so FUCKED UP? Yeah, I'll bet you like that. Sooo fucked up"
I'm REALLY reluctant for Kite and Violence Jack, since they both show penetration. (Urotsukidoji, for all its many sins, does not.)
Not particularly, no.
โWhy donโt you carry hentai?โ
Wellโฆ
[Review] From the snow-shrouded mountains to the desert of Western America, from samurai and shinobi to cowboys and Indians, Rintaroโs vision for this classic tale of a half-Ainu boy and a lost pirate treasure is epic.
MediaOCD has revealed the titles it is adding to the Discotek Deep Dives project this month, including Reborn!, several Urusei Yatsura movies, and more.
I donโt often feel short changed by my middle class American upbringing in the 80s and 90s, but I was talking to a friend of mine who grew up in Mexico and Europe, and he told me his favorite anime as a child was Rose of Versailles
It's been 9 days and I am "over my jet lag" in that I can USUALLY make it through the afternoon without a nap.
Why do the Japanese like their buns askew (2026)
Days like today, where we put up a bunch of discs that we did ages ago for sale, really is such a thrill to watch. Every order that comes in, you get to see someoneโs tastes, and what gets them excited.
We get to sell joy to people. A very specific, nerdy joy. How cool is that?
Time for a new batch of @discotekmedia.bsky.social Deep Dives!
Get them while you can, some of these are getting pretty hard to find. A few also have limited stock.

Why would we, it's profitable
1. Find a clearly unwell, insecure, neurodivergent person trying too hard
2. Point and laugh
3. Mainstream international media joins in the dogpile, writes thinkpieces about Kids Today
4. Person inevitably self harms
5. everybody goes "oh shit"
repeat
The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
Lessons that all Americans should contemplate about the road ahead for Hungary and for us
I'm still fighting an awful case of jet lag, which must be why I ate 4 hazelnut croissants today
Reminder that Shonen Jump is not synonymous with "manga."
When people talk about manga artists and their insane schedules... no, those are Shonen Jump artists.
Other manga artists (the remaining 90%) work no harder than American comic artists. And they are happy not to work themselves to death.

Syundei, the creator of Go For it, Nakamura-kun!! has seemingly been harassed off Twitter over the sexual fantasies that appear in the original manga.
This is incredibly sad. The Puritanical BS some creators face is absurd.
I'd ask, "what sort of dysfunctional nerdy kid grows up dreaming of running a media publisher that goes deep on obscure, weird shit, while spending an outlandish amount of time on presentation quality" but I must admit that was exactly me
As someone who runs a web store, having an email box that is answered by a real person is REALLY not a huge lift. I do not understand why techbros think that using Wile E. Coyote-tier AI is some massive unlock.
Maybe a whipped cream sandwich and use the ATM
After two weeks in Asia, it's very weird to suddenly stop paying attention to every 7-Eleven you pass by.
Yeah those are definitely publicist cues they're taking. Penske Media outlets are little more than press release regurgitation machines these days.
I gotta say, after seeing what Shibuya looks like now at peak tourist season, Iโm REALLY second guessing spending a good part of my life educating Westerners about Japan
Way overdue but I finally picked this up and I adored it.
I'd never heard of the film before (documentary inc explains why) but the trailer really caught my attention.
Justin and co outdid themselves on this project. If you like dreamlike, quirky comedies from the 90s/00s you have to try this one!
Pro tip: if you're visiting Tokyo, avoid any area you've heard of. It's been absolutely ruined by tourists.
All the places in-between are great but I can tell that small businesses in Shibuya are sick of it. PARCO might as well be an amusement park. The main shopping stop of Ginza is a nightmare.
