Maybe there is some EQ happening on your laptop when wired? Or the DAC might be producing higher outputs in certain frequencies?
Wired you have AAC > DAC > analog signal > ADC > Adaptive EQ > DAC > 40mm dynamic driver
Also, fun fact, Apple Vision Pro sends lossless to USB-C version of AirPod Pro.

If you canโt trust the bartender, who can you trust?
On a more serious note: definitely be suspicious of any apps that change ownership without clear indication of who owns it.
My hope is this is all just a misunderstanding!
#RedHat publishing vulnerabilities in OSV format available through OSV is such a fantastic move!
Thank you to all the teams (Red Hat, Google, OpenSSF, and OSV at the minimum) who made this happen!

I should write some guidance on this. There are heuristics rather than a single answer.
I like to set up authenticated channels like mTLS but do a hard authorization check before risky actions.
The reason for this is to balance security and latency. High latency can destabilize a system at scale.
Happy to share that I'll be hosting a live stream "Driving Platform Engineering Transformation" with Hasith Kalpage, from Cisco! Make sure to attend it on November 26
There is going to be a live demo of the AI integration with Backstage using LangGraph

Bots are making it difficult to determine who is real vs who is not.
Some of us find trends through Gartner, others through @quinnypig.com
We wrote a whole book on this! Go check out the case studies at the end of the book by Uber, Pinterest, Bytedance, Anthem; and Square.
Also, many k8s service meshes use SPIFFE compliant identities.
The goal: standardize and automate.

Well, we are moving towards โsecretlessโ infrastructure, right? ๐
The image is a two-panel meme featuring Geordi La Forge from Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the first panel, he is raising his hand in a stopping gesture, labeled โdata breach,โ implying disapproval or rejection. In the second panel, he is lowering his hand with a thoughtful expression, labeled โdecentralized surprise backup,โ suggesting acceptance or a positive reinterpretation of the situation.
Security is about changing our perspective! ๐
Love active noise cancellation! I always carry some AirPod pros for this exact reason. They are especially great in conferences when they are held in buildings with bad acoustics. (Ahem San Diego)
Go rent an airplane and fly around if you legally can! Itโs glorious!
i have the privilege of being the program chair for 2025's @cncf.bsky.social maintainer summit, where all graduated/incubating project contributors can come together at kubecon/cloudnativecon EU in london ๐ค our first wave CFP closes soon, and getting a talk accepted gets you a ticket to kubecon!
Likewise, people who only increase awe for themselves but not in others are likely bad for the community because they are only looking out for themselves.
TLDR: Love this term and hope we can make it catch on!
PS: thanks @hazelweakly.me for linking me
PPS: Thanks for being patient with my long msg
I absolutely intend to add the word ecological awe. I suspect that if we can find a way to maximize ecological awe in communities of people building distributed systems, maybe we can find a balance between the needs of the community and tech. Increase overall awe for maximum happiness and impact.
When any person or component interjects itself in the center of things, it becomes a bottleneck. In some systems (e.g. k8s), this increases predictability at the expense of scale.
However, in communities, this may impact size, diversity, creativity, and member safety. (Good governance is important)
All communities, markets, and distributed systems are emergent systems. Each contain properties that none of the individual components themselves have. Typically, scale occurs as a result of these interactions.
That's amazing and can fully appreciate the sentiment, having gone through this myself!
I love the term awestruck here, shows a level of humbleness and excitement all rolled up into one. This reminds me of study I did on emergent systems.
@thajeztah.bsky.social boop!
Good to see you!
Well, you did invite them into the platform! Thank you for that!
Indeed, these interactions with you are always memorable for me even when they only last 5s for a photo!
Compliance frameworks often reflect outdated assumptions and aim for the lowest common denominator. Attackers exploit the gap between these assumptions and reality.
Focus on โdoing the right thingโ to naturally meet many of the requirements. Those who only chase the boxes typically fall short.
Almost didnโt happen this year!!! So glad we ran into each other so that we could keep up the tradition!
May I?
How many of you are functional burnouts?
Start looking after yourself! You deserve it!

It is really cool to see a new secret store built on top of SPIFFE in a native way. This is a great way to show how a common production identity framework can make other things much simpler and automated.
There is a lot of block and tackle here but he core flow is surprisingly simple.
