When everything around is on fire and you just decide to revert to primordial soup.

I have a feeling this is just another chapter in the fight against right to repair. How many businesses are upset that randoms have a choice to not pay $17 for a simple bit of plastic?

On man the concept of Liz wielding a giant hammer like Amy Rose is perfect.

Yup. All part of the plan. Notice how he was as far from the spotlight as possible until the public’s reaction to the war was well-measured.

Odd, my pickup’s trailer lights don’t need software to work, they’re just hardwired to the, uh, truck’s normal lights

“We’ll be making a decision on public schools by noon on Sunday”

Whoa a school district that doesn’t make closure decisions 90 minutes before the busses depart for the morning so people can actually plan their day? What a concept

As low as you can get away with. Just keep an eye on component temperatures. Most components like to be below 80c, and damage can occur above the mid-90s. Counterintuitively, adding more fans (if your case has empty spaces for them) might help you lower fan speeds while keeping airflow the same.

I didn’t see it live, just a clip after the fact, but her first karaoke where she nervously sang Silhouette stopped me dead in my tracks.

You could tell she was practically shaking, but holy shit something about her voice just sucked me in. I created a Youtube account just to join her membership.

I actually came across one of your posts here a month or so back and was like “wait why does that name sound familiar?”

I used to be a DSL reports regular back when I had DSL and used it to connect with other poor Frontier users and techs.

Too bad about the site, but nice to see you still at it.

Ah so it’s a safety thing, disabling the HV system when it’s unneeded.

I guess I just assumed it was an untaken design optimization keeping the two systems separate.

Like, in theory if the HV system was always active there could just be a big DC-DC converter and capacitor bank.

I never understood why electric cars still have a standard battery.

I get why they have a 12v system, it just seems like if you have a system on board than can feed enough power to run all the 12v accessories while also charging a battery, what’s the point of an additional component that can fail?
