Agree, this is a very important step in starting dialogue and, hopefully, lead to solutions that will enable the therapy needs of people with CAS to be met.

We will never know what life would have been like if she had received appropriate early intervention but, we are still paying the price for the lack of it, and nearly 12 years later, are still battling for appropriate speech therapy for CAS for her.

My, now teenage daughter, was diagnosed with CAS about 6 years of age yet had been under SLT since 2 yr old. She also has a genetic condition, 'de novo', which is the cause of CAS for her.

Something has to change, to ensure everyone with CAS gets the therapy that is needed without delay.

diagnosis, and very importantly, treatment for CAS for those under 3 years is going to happen, or happening now?

For children with a genetic diagnosis, where CAS is a
symptom, surely there is no need to wait? We all know early intervention is key.
