190 years ago today at San Jacinto—Santa Anna learned in just *18 minutes* what #DontMessWithTexas really means! 👊
In the field were *seven* future #SCOTX Justices, including two Chief Justices—one of whom led the final charge that won the day. ⚖️💯

Many thx! Our anniversary isn’t till this summer but we’re grateful to Judge Parker for consecrating our union. She and Kimberly are longtime friends and she’s one of the best jurists we have on the Texas bench! ⚖️💯
We men do so much better in life when we marry 🆙 😍💯
Highly recommend this excellent article from Georgia Court of Appeals Presiding Judge Dillard—who has most effectively advanced Fifth Circuit Judge Willett's mantle established more than a decade ago of embracing social media to directly engage with the public whom the judiciary serves.⚖️
Many thanks to outstanding #SCOTX Justice & former TX SG, Kyle Hawkins for joining the SABA Appellate Practice Section last night!💯
And terrific former #SCOTX Justice Paul Green brought 4 of the amazing students from his SCOTX class—one of whom serves as the acting Justice Hawkins for the class!
Many thanks to the Comal County Bar Association for having me out last week to speak on the new TRCP 166a MSJ rule! 🎙️⚖️
At this hour, 190 years ago, Santa Anna's buglers played Deguello—signaling all Alamo defenders would be put to the sword.

Although the Fall of the Alamo had begun, Texans would topple Santa Anna a few weeks later.

“By God, Woodrow, it’s been quite a party, ain’t it.”
Last week, the appellate court *vacated* the trial court's judgment wrongfully holding Texas's CROWN Act did not render unlawful BHISD’s discriminatory hair-length policy.💯
So grateful to represent Darryl & Darresha George alongside Allie Booker in this fight!👊

On this 40th MLK Day, remembering our trip to Atlanta a half-decade ago and our moving visit to Dr. King’s birthplace and the amazing King Center.
So thankful for his life, leadership, and legacy.

What an honor to argue today alongside Allie Booker on behalf of Darryl & Darresha George! 💯
Really appreciate the Court’s generosity in giving both sides plenty of time to argue this important case.🎙️

Godspeed to all those who were taken from us 24 years ago today and God bless their courageous families who have borne the ultimate sacrifice for the past nearly quarter century.

Need to make it out to the beautiful Hill Country Hyatt more often!💯
Just seeing the unwelcome news that former Fourth Court of Appeals Chief Justice Alma López has passed.
She was the first judge to ever give me a shot, hiring me as her intern. I fell in love with appellate practice that summer. Will be forever grateful to her for taking a chance on me.
Godspeed.
God bless the 17 souls whose lives were taken far too soon 59 years ago today at UT-Austin.
Thankful for the heroism of many that day, including my Dad.🤘
