Middletown farmhouse (twinned with the Shire) is looking quite a picture today
Tough old work week finished today ,tough old work week coming up no doubt, followed by a huge family get together to celebrate dad’s life, next Friday,I’m nearly there on my little speech though,a bit of tidying up left.Life seems very surreal right now though, you never feel as if this day will be 🤷🏻♂️
So we’ve now both finished work for the week,Middletown farmhouse (twinned with the Shire) is looking pretty good outside for the time of year 😳🤫we’re sat in the concrete yard in front of the old piggery,South facing 😉clear blue sky, sheltered from the wind, and warm, excuse me a pint of cider awaits 😉
Hello I’m back after a rather long hiatus from here, and today the most wonderful thing happened at Middletown farmhouse (twinned with the Shire) Our first Swallow arrived after a huge journey, and what a most welcome sight it is,lovely 😉👍
Mr Howard’s response was ok we better go and have a beer then, thanks for cheering me up Hugh, village humour is wonderful
We popped up the village (Pub)today,1st time in a while to see how Dear old Mr Howard aged 81 is.He’s ok sort of 🙄 He had a chat with dear old Hugh, age 79,earlier,Hugh said he’d read an article that said the average age of a male human is 81,1/2 years and that Mr Howard is ok until June or July,
I’m off work Wednesday and I’m having a musical couple of hours listening to brilliant bands like @theheavynorth.bsky.social @dictator.bsky.social @moonlightparade.bsky.social and a fair few other upcoming new music artists, too, about bloody time as well 😉
They’re going, the Great Fulford estate is getting rid of the leylandii for us,yup a month of chaos out there, but we can live with that. Oh we’ll have a view then, lovely. They we’re planted oh 25 years ago,to stop the local farm workers looking at the previous tenants wife topless sunbathing 😂😂😂
We’re in North Yorkshire again,to see dear old mum,Dad sadly passed 10 days before Xmas 😥 Mum won’t recognise us though @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social it’s a very cruel disease, but we’re here and we’ll brighten up mum’s days for the next week 😉❤️
Well Dear old Dad would have enjoyed that rugby,God rest his soul ❤️Off to Yorkshire tomorrow to see dear old mum for a few days, @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social 😔❤️😍🥰
Interesting day,the estate have been round to look at our damaged horrible leylandii.🤞They may be coming down at no cost to ourselves, oooh I’m hoping so,what a view we’ll have then. This pic is the local farmers field view, they want them down, obviously,as well,we shall see,but it would be proper 🤞👍😉
Magical piece of music, everything, the clocks, the lyrics, the vocals and of course the guitar, stunning 👍
That’s it our lovely neighbours have now left evicted by the wicked witch of Middletown, she has leases on 3 out of 4 properties, but not Middletown farmhouse 😉 They’ve become lovely friends over the nearly 12 years we’ve been here and we’ll miss them greatly,a sad day for the old place and all of us
Just popped outside as the sky has cleared temporarily, before more wind and rain, there’s a glimpse, just a glimpse. The birds are singing more ,a few shoots of green are nudging through in places, give it 3/4 weeks and I’ll be happier, then the massive tidy up outside starts, tis the same each year 🙄
An unusually quiet day at Middletown Farmhouse (twinned with the Shire) for the 26th of January 🤔We tried popping up the Village (Pub) but the underpass was flooded 🙄I cleared the drains which gave us time to get to the shop and back before the leaves washed down to cover the drains again ,life 🤷🏻♂️😂
Good evening everyone,I’ve had a break from here for a while,but I’m back.🙄 😂Apparently I’ve got to plan a trip to London,via Liverpool,then back to Liverpool,to see @theheavynorth.bsky.social not once but twice in a few days,yup I can do that I think 😉 We know 😉
That’s been a tough old couple of months,no matter how you prepare, the inevitability of life, still smacks you in the face at times. But I always find solace in my music, that’s how it should be 😉
Through to where I was stood,”Andy see that blue paint mark on the fence, always clear the drain underneath 1st,that takes away enough water to let you walk on the pavement to clear the other 2 drains, job done “ Wow not even Mr Howard knew that, you never stop learning, wonderful 👍
So we’ve been at Middletown farmhouse (twinned with the shire) nearly 12 years now,the underpass always floods and we can’t get out of the lane.It flooded this morning. I was just going to get my wellies when the farmer turned up,he whacked the tractor and bucket through a few times then drove it
Back in Devon now,a hard ,but poignant and beautiful few days in North Yorkshire,❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
