I'm so sorry Geneviève
I mean sure, my golden goose lays a bunch of golden eggs every month. But I spend 5 bucks a month feeding it and frankly that's unacceptable.
baby has great taste
A Steam AI Generated Content Disclosure The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this: AI-generated voiceovers for ingame characters. This is a indie no-budget production. Sorry :-'(
I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this.
The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all!
Games don't need VO to be good!
By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!
And if you're looking for temp art to 'explore tone and atmosphere' then hire a concept artist because that is literally their job.
Look, I've said this before but if you need to drop in a placeholder asset to make sure a system is working then make it obvious.
If it's even somewhat convincing then there's a significant chance it's gonna end up shipping, because you'll forget and other folks are less likely to catch it.
Tyler, the creator saying "So that was a fucking lie."
Game devs adding 'temp' assets that they're gonna come back and update later
Illustration of a cover for THE HOBBIT. View from inside the halls of the woodland elves. A ramp is dropping some barrels. The trees make a circle. In the trees are some elves and spiders. Inside the circle from the bottom is a river flowing through forest. Barrels in the river. The river joins a lake with a floating town, above it the Lonely Mountain, with its reflection/shadow over the town. This will be a riso print.
HOBBIT!
It's a me-on
That's fair. I feel like I'm way more forgiving of outdated controls if I actually played the game when it was new.
I reckon if it happens to me then I'd strongly consider doing the same honestly
Guessing I wouldn't be missing anything important by skipping 1?
As someone who has never played a Resident Evil game, where would folks recommend starting these days?
Congrats π
