I'm not watching - and to be fair I'm in Maryland so I can't really - but please if Hilton promises he'll do anything by sToPpInG wOkE, let us know so I can do a shot of something. Preferably something wOkE.

@msignorile.bsky.social Haven't heard anyone on Progress mention this yet, but it looks like a Nazi sympathizer from Mexico City who admired the Columbine shooters (!) was behind the attack on Monday at the Teotihuacรกn archaeological site in Mexico.

This is my favorite gif for this moment ๐๐
I've been thinking a lot about the ad cadence for Team Yes in 2+ months they were running TV spots (fairness + temporary -> Obama + Spanberger support it -> explicit "fight Trump") and wondering if getting to "fight Trump" sooner would have juiced the margin all
(All the ads were quite good, imo)
Grim but useful read.

So Dems won the redistricting wars.
But Dems will support natiional legislation to end the practice because they recognize gerrrymanders are inherently bad for democracy.
GOP may finally agree - but only because they lost.
Which is why VA's vote was a victory against gerrymandering.
Dem leaders in Congress should TODAY introduce legislation to ban gerrymandering nationally.
Any Republican attacking the results in Virginia should be invited to cosponsor the bill.
Somehow this will be the least shocking thing I will have read all day ๐
Each year we offer a list of dissertation projects (both undergrad and postgrad) tied to active research that we'd like to supervise & these are almost never taken up. I try to communicate to students that integrating into an existing research project often leads to better opportunities, but alas.
On Karp and that awful Palantir manifesto: Karp is such a fan of Oswald Mosley, the 1930s British Fascist leader, that he has memorised his speeches.
When it talks, walks, and salutes like a duck, itโs a duck.

The Washington Post opinion headline from the editorial board. Headline "Virginia plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss" Subhead: "The redistricting scheme was always a power grab by Democrats. Voters went along with it."
Hilarious posturing. Oh did the Democrats finally turn up to the gun fight with a knife? Mercy mercy, when did this all get so violent, lands lands.
He's also amazingly terrible at realizing just how few cards *he* has! ๐
one of the best days on social media was in 2021 when trump was banned from every single network. you saw him repeatedly trying to make alts before each one got banned too, like a poster trying to escape a game forum permaban
Unless your wife and her coworker plan on doing the same in Texas, North Carolina, etc that has no bearing on the current national redistricting movement kicked off by MAGA
Stupid goo goo nonsense. The only way to get fair districting is to pinch republicans in the mouth enough until they agree to fairness. Doing this with Callais days away from ripping up the VRA is so stupid I donโt know where to begin.
New AP poll
Trumpโs job approval rating falls to 33%.
Huge warning sign for the GOP โ> Trumpโs approval on handling the economy has tanked to 30%, falling by 9 points since February before he launched the Iran war.

Iโm a broken record on this but Trumpโs firewall from 2016-2025 was voter trust in his handling of the economy. Not MAGA culture wars. That firewall has now been breached, and his overall approval is sinking to unusual levels. www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
a) it's unalloyed good news that the redistricting in Virginia is nearly certain to pass
b) the fact that the margin looks like it'll run ~10 points behind Spanberger 2025 points to the limitations of political maximalism -- Virginia is blue enough we can do this, thank god, but it's not popular
Pretty sure that anti-racist work, including infiltration of far-right groups, is exactly what SPLCโs donors intended to pay for. But the time and expenses swallowed by the court proceedings to come are the point here โ regardless of the quality of the case.
I have to say: just as a strict matter of arithmetic logic, the commitment of this administration to anti-anti-racism seems mighty telling.
Love that our DOJ has seen fit to take on the role of Chris Crocker for white supremacists: โleave Nazis _alone_!โ
So the shooter at Teotihuacรกn was a Neo-Nazi from CDMX who was inspired by Columbine!? I didn't think I could be surprised by this shit anymore.
Trump couldnโt even be bothered to find a replacement Fed chair who wasnโt a Jeffrey Epstein customer
WTF even? This woman is an idiot.
everytime something like this is posted it's by someone who doesn't actually know any single men
And to a large extent, that includes his supports (rules only for thee, nveer for me)
DONALD TRUMP: Mail-in voting is CHEATING.
ALSO DONALD TRUMP: I did a mail-in ballot because I'm the President of the United States.
This is not a joke or sarcasm. This was literally Donald Trump's rhetoric over the course of mere days last month (and it reinforces Greg's summary of Trumpism).
Scrapple.
FUCKING SCRAPPLE! ๐คข
